Regenerative Oxidizer Systems in Comprehensive Industrial Solutions
VOC Emissions Control Systems with Regenerative Thermal Oxidation
Green Earth Inc. is the worldwide leader in regenerative thermal oxidizer system solutions. Green Earth's Engineers have installed more than 300 regenerative oxidizer systems in the USA, Canada and China since 1975. Every system installed by Green Earth's Engineers is custom designed, engineered and implemented to the unique needs of each client facility. Regenerative oxidizer systems designed by Green Earth are commonly integrated with our other environmental control systems, including dust collectors, scrubbers and energy recovery system, providing a complete one-stop turnkey package.
Thermal Oxidizer Systems
Roughly 80% of all thermal oxidizer applications installed today use a process called thermal regenerative oxidation. The regenerative approach has been around since the 1970s, but remained cost prohibitive until the advent of the two-bed regenerative unit in the early 1990s. In thermal regenerative oxidation, two separate ceramic bed approximately 4 to 5 feet in thickness are connected to a series of poppet valves, used to redirect contaminated air through the ceramic beds. Waste heat from the previous cycle is used to heat the beds to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. As the air leaves through the second bed, heat is transferred to the ceramic, reducing the final exhaust air temperature to roughly 50 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit above the initial air temperature.
Destruction efficiency of a regenerative thermal oxidizer is around 99%, while thermal efficiency is typically around 97%, making it an incredibly cost-effective unit long-term. Maintenance costs for regenerative units are very low, and the unit operates without an open flame in the combustion chamber.
Compared to other thermal oxidation technologies, regenerative oxidizers generally provide the most efficient, cost-effective solution.
Regenerative Oxidizer Systems Design, Engineering and Installation Services
Thermal recuperative oxidation was popular in the 1970s and 80s, when metal and natural gas prices were comparatively inexpensive. Using a stainless
Thermal catalytic oxidation uses a combustion chamber along with a catalyst, typically a precious metal such as platinum, and allows the oxidation process to convert contaminants at much lower temperatures, 650 degrees Fahrenheit. This represents significant operating cost savings when compared to recuperative oxidation, but it comes with high initial costs, as well as high maintenance costs based on the expense of catalyst replacement parts. steel chamber to heat contaminated air to 1400 degrees Fahrenheit, recuperative oxidizers have destruction efficiencies up to 99%, but thermal efficiencies of only 75%, with very high operating and maintenance costs.
A Thermal Regenerative Oxidation (TRO) System is designed to effectively destroy Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and emissions from industrial or manufacturing processes. Our air handling engineers will propose effective, practical ways to convert waste heat into cost-efficient solutions through energy recovery. This process purifies exhaust while significantly lowering your facilities energy costs.
Green Earth Inc. can provide a variety of high quality air-pollution control and industrial ventilation systems. Every system is precisely engineered, customized for each application. Green Earth provides complete, effective turnkey services for each of our clients.
